Paul McCartney Praises Teen's Mi'kmaq Cover of 'Blackbird'

The 16-year-old student's cover of the Beatles classic became a viral hit.


A Canadian teen just got a huge shout out from one of the biggest singer-songwriters of all time.

Emma Stevens, a 16-year-old student in Nova Scotia, went viral in April, thanks to her cover of the The Beatles' "Blackbird."

See her rendition below:

Stevens' cover of the song is entirely in Mi'kmaq, an Indigenous language spoken by fewer than 10,000 people.

That video caught the attention of Sir Paul McCartney.
